Girl with
Balloon Pendant
This rectangular metal pendant features a whimsical
illustration of a girl holding a balloon next to the silhouette of the moon. The picture is coated with
resin, giving it a
glass-like look. Pendant is strung on a black cord with a matching
metal lobster clasp. This necklace was made by Melissa Rohr.

Size of pendant: about 1" across, 1/8" thick

Product Story:
Resin is a three dimensional adhesive material used to
coat items and give them a glass-like look and feel. In these pendants,
it also allows the picture beneath to look magnified. These necklaces
were made by placing a small illustration into a metal bezel frame, and
coating it with a two-part resin. When the resin dried to a hard
glass-like material, the pendants were attached to a simple black cord
with a metal lobster clasp.
Artist Information:
Melissa Rohr studied illustration at Columbia College
Chicago. She has a fascination with octopuses and enjoys working with
watercolor, ink, oil pastel, chalk and charcoal. Melissa also enjoys
illustrating books as well as bookbinding and jewelry-making.
